PEM is one of the industry leaders in Automatic Hydrotesting Equipment. We offer two different versions of Hydrotesters. Our Submersible Style fully submerges the pipe in a bath of water, while our Non-Submersible Style fills and drains the pipe of water through a closed loop pump system.

Quicker process with fully submerged pipe
Submersible Hydrotesters are designed to safely test PVC water main pipe lengths in accordance with the requirements published by the American Water Works Association. All aspects of the specification proof test are readily met for both 20' and 22' pipe lengths. Completely submerging the pipe in a water bath guarantees no air remains in the pipe during testing and helps remove residual heat from the manufacturing process. Tooling per pipe size consists of a male end plug and a female end cap with gasket rings. This tooling can be rapidly changed out with easy to access lifting points.

Non-Submersible Hydrotesters
Rugged Style Testing
Slower process, but
more durable
Non-Submersible Hydrotesters are designed to safely test PVC water main pipe lengths in accordance with the requirements published by the American Water Works Association. All aspects of the specification proof test are readily met for both 20' and 22' pipe lengths. A closed loop water system rapidly fills and empties water out of the pipe for testing which avoids spills and splashes. Tooling per pipe size consists of a male end plug and a female end cap with gasket rings. This tooling can be rapidly changed out with easy to access lifting points.
