Because of that, we’ve developed automatic pipe stacking units that are designed to significantly reduce operator error and mitigate safety concerns. SAFE, EFFICIENT, AND AUTOMATED
PEM offers a highly effective solution to your pipe stacking needs. Our pipe stacking units are available in two different sizes and are designed to automatically stack four to 15-inch and 12 to 24-inch pipe sizes. These units receive pieces of pipe ranging from 13 to 23-feet long, rotate every other piece, and accumulate enough pieces to make one row. Once the specified number of pipes has accumulated for the row, the pipe is transferred to a packaging cart. The operator specifies the number of pipes per row and package prior to automatic operation. The machine includes an Allen-Bradley® PLC with a 10-inch color touch-screen for operator control.
Our 12-24-inch pipe stacker is designed with a non-moving, floor-level pallet that is used during the stacking sequence. The pallet rows are filled based on the recipe set by the operator. Operators can move a row or rows of the pipe away from the stacking system, band them, and then return them to the stacking system to complete further rows of the pipe until the recipe is fulfilled. This helps to mitigate operator error and safety concerns when working with large diameters of pipe. A SICK Safety Laser Scanner scans defined protection barriers of the stacking operation as an added level of safety.
