Manufacturing Production Supervisor

Tumwater, Washington​

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for hiring and training manufacturing employees.

  • Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules of manufacturing employees. 

  • Provides constructive and objective performance evaluations.  

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. 

  • Creates and oversees employee training schedule that emphasizes productivity and resource conservation.

  • Oversees and directs departmental leads by meeting daily discussing projects and duties.

  • Evaluates the manufacturing process to ensure maximum efficiency. 

  • Assumes responsibility for manufacturing processes in the plant. 

  • Maintains open lines of communication between employees, management, and executives. 

  • Ensures all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly.

  • Collaborates with other departments and supervisors to coordinate production timelines.   

  • Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data.

  • Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.  

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.

  • Works efficiently with General Manager & COO to improve capacity and meet deadlines.

  • Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.  

  • Collaborates with other departmental managers to develop and execute a budget.

  • Coaches and supports manufacturing employees.

  • Maintains a good attitude and promotes a positive culture.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Study Theory of Constraints, Lean Strategies, and other processes to improve efficiencies and create department strategies.  

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software. 

 
Education and Experience requirements
  • ​Previous experience in a supervisory capacity required 

  • 4+ years’ manufacturing plant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
